How do I transition my baby from swaddling to a SleepSack® Sleeping Bag?

When your baby shows signs of breaking free from the SleepSack® Swaddle or rolling over, it’s time to discontinue swaddling. To make the transition easier, we recommend gradually transitioning your little one to the SleepSack® Sleeping Bag. You can do this by swaddling your baby for a few nights with one arm out, then two arms out of the swaddle. Your baby will still have the secure feeling of the swaddle while gradually adjusting to having his arms free.

How do I use the SleepSack® Sleeping Bag?

Slip the SleepSack® Sleeping Bag over your baby's regular sleepwear as a replacement to loose blankets in the cot. You may want to put a short or long sleeve bodysuit or a coverall on underneath the wearable blanket depending on your nursery temperature. Don't put your baby to sleep wearing a hat, as this can result in overheating.

Safe Sleep, Made Easy

The SleepSack® wearable blanket replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby's face and interfere with breathing. In addition to sleeping safer, it helps babies sleep better, too. It's a warm cuddly blanket they can't kick off; ensuring baby sleeps soundly throughout the night.

Hip Healthy Sack Design

The #1 choice of hospitals, the unique, roomy sack design does not restrict the baby's legs to ensure proper hip development. It is recognised by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as "Hip Healthy".

In Partnership with: The Lullaby Trust

"We are delighted to be working with a company that is committed to safer sleep for babies. The Lullaby Trust encourages all families to sleep their baby in a cot or Moses basket in the parent’s room for the first six months. HALO®’s BassiNest® Essentia and SleepSack® complement our advice perfectly and we will be working together to help all families give their babies the perfect start in life.’’

Jenny Ward, CEO of The Lullaby Trust
